Adobe Lightroom - and now Aperture V2.1...
First I downloaded the trial then I bought this book... then I bought Lightroom.. ....I love the catalogue, import renaming and keywording, hit command+shift+f then t then LL to get one big photo per screen (listen, I didn't look that up, I use it all the time (help!)) - that is, just one photo no toolbars or anything else - great with a laptop when I get my new Apple Macbook! Just two things, the book retails at £28.99, the software £205.62 - do me a favour, click the links above to get yours! Update since Aperture 2: I tried Aperture 2, I really tried to love it, I spent nearly a day getting everything together - all my iPhoto, all my Lightroom, all my archived stuff, and I turned it into one big Aperture folder. That's when the problems started... I had photos in all kinds of areas since bizarrely (?) Aperture has a different way of clumping your photos together to iPhoto and I gotta say the way iPhoto (freeish remember) does it, well.. that's better. I had Projects, Albums, Events and 'Albums' - life's too short. Adobe is certainly good at some things... Further update: I'm now using Aperture. Why? better, faster, RAW convertor - rave reviews - I use Apple - persisted and found the software to be better than I thought above. If you use windoze, you'll like Lightroom, I did. By comparison, this guy, just went the other way! Links/Tutorials and so on: Workflow by Terry White Tips from The Image Space Intelligent importing 17 mins Julieanne Kost |
